Are you our next
General Manager?
The General Manager joins Civil Righteousness as a core organizational leader, entrusted with one of the most sacred and strategic roles in our community expression.
This position bridges two essential dimensions of The Garden’s life as you:
Café & Operations Leader
Ensure that we are able to give the community top-tier coffeehouse and café experiences, growing a culture of excellence in ambiance, service, product quality, team culture, and routine operations with a dynamic crew of baristas and kitchen staff.
Community & Events Manager
Oversee the scheduling, logistics, and execution of community conversations, gallery events, kitchen partnerships, and ministry gatherings — ensuring that every activation of The Garden reflects the heart and vision of Civil Righteousness.
This is a leadership position that is both spiritual and functional: maintaining, developing, and improving systems and operations while personifying biblical values through artistry, hospitality, collaboration, and friendship. As GM, you don’t just run a café, you carry community.

Strong, active faith in Jesus Christ with a demonstrated passion for holy activism, reconciliation, and justice in alignment with the values and culture of Civil Righteousness

Strong understanding of basic financial reporting, cash handling, inventory management, and budget oversight
Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to engage effectively with staff, guests, vendors, partners, and leadership
Passion for coffee with a strong working knowledge of coffee preparation and café service; experienced barista service.
Exceptional customer service instincts with the ability to de-escalate conflicts and resolve complaints with grace and professionalism
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, teams, and timelines simultaneously without compromising quality or composure
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities — someone who brings solutions, not just problems, to the table

Experience in nonprofit, faith-based, or community-centered organizational leadership
Familiarity with event production, community programming, or gallery and studio management
Skills in vendor coordination, contract management, and facilities compliance
Background in or deep affinity for the arts, entrepreneurship, or restorative justice work
SPIRITUAL POSTURE & CULTURAL FIT
Civil Righteousness is not simply a place to work — it is a community to belong to, and a movement to participate in. The General Manager must be someone whose faith is not merely stated but lived: in the way they lead their team, welcome a stranger, repair a conflict, and show up consistently over time.
We are looking for a leader who understands that biblical hospitality is justice work — that creating a beautiful, safe, excellent, and radically welcoming space is an act of love for our neighbors and obedience to our God. We want someone who sees the café as a sanctuary, the event calendar as a ministry tool, and every person who walks through the door as someone made in the image of God.
If this resonates — and you are called to steward a place where hope truly grows — we want to hear from you.
Civil Righteousness, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and all resumes will be duly considered. We are now accepting resumes until Monday, August 17th, 2026.
